Where is this found? Whenever you disconnect a harness plug from an N14 M11 or L10 Cummins Celect or Celect Plus ECM, that plug should get a new o-Ring. It is located around the end of the plug housing that slides into the Cummins ECM port. With age the o-ring can flatten from age or melt, become brittle and crumble rendering it defective.
When to replace? Best to add a new o-ring anytime you remove the ecm plug, to help better protect the ecm from moisture, oil, aging, etc.
Tips: Always protect ECM and connectors from engine pressure washing. O-rings cannot protect the ecm against the high power of a pressure washer. If the ecm connector(s) gets wet it can damage the ecm or cause a no start that can sometimes be resolved after aired dry. Connector bolts use a 7mm socket to remove them from the celect ECM or the Celect Plus ecm.
